Prayer and Support Group
Learn more about the Hope Has Arrived Prayer and Support Group on Facebook.
You are not alone! Nor were you ever meant to be.
None of us, even the strongest among us, should not walk this path alone. We need others, we need support, and above all, we need hope amidst cancer.
That’s why we created this group in 2020.
The Hope Has Arrived Prayer and Support Group on Facebook is a safe and welcoming place for people to find hope, strength and peace against cancer.
The purpose of the Hope Has Arrived Prayer and Support group is to provide support and prayer for people facing cancer, along with friends and family affected, too.
You can visit the group, or keep reading for more info.
Who is the Group for?
This group is for fighters, caregivers and family members. There are a wide variety of diagnosis and experiences represented, but we are all united by a common need: we all need hope, strength and peace on our journey.
What members are saying
“This group helps me know I’m not alone and that people care…”
“This group is very safe. I have never seen any negativity!”
“Each time I’ve asked for prayer there have been hundreds of responses.”
What kind of support will I receive?
You will connect with others going through similar situations. You Our members are very kind, welcoming and supportive. After you join, we welcome you to:
1. Share about your journey and experience as either a patient, caregiver/supporter or friend and family member.
2. Ask for support and prayer
3. Engage with others and ask about their experiences, too.
Feel free to share as much or as little as you want. You could even just, “I need prayer right now” and leave it at that.
The Importance of Prayer
Prayer is acknowledging a power outside of yourself and asking God for help. We believe that praying for one another is one of the best ways to support each other. For more about this topic, read: Asking God for Help.
We come from a Christian perspective and welcome a wide array of denominations and backgrounds. We realize not everyone who joins this group may have a spiritual background or belief. Whatever you believe, you are welcome here.
Hope Has Arrived Prayer and Support Group: Our Leadership
We are led by a team of cancer survivors, caregivers and family members. We are led by Rosie Kilroy, our prayer and support leader, and Chris Lawrence, the founder of Hope Has Arrived. We are always looking for more volunteers to help us care for people impacted by cancer.
How do people find this group?
We estimate that 70-80% of people find us through a sponsored post on Facebook. The rest find us through Google Search or word of mouth. If you know someone who could benefit from this group, please share it with them!
How is Hope Has Arrived funded?
Hope Has Arrived is a registered 501c3 and rely upon donations of individuals and organizations to help us extend hope to others. No one receives any salaries or benefits of any kind; we are all volunteers. To learn more about how you can join us in helping people find hope, see our Donate Page. For every dollar we receive, we estimate we can bring the message of hope to at least 10 people impacted by cancer.
A Safe, Positive and Welcoming Place
We strive to make our prayer and support group a safe and welcoming place. We welcome all new members personally, regularly monitor all posts and content, and each person who joins must fill out a membership survey. There are also rules and conduct that each member must abide by.
Remember, you don’t have to walk this journey alone! As support group leader Rosie Kilroy says, “We are here for you. We will pray for you to help you find hope, strength and peace.”
